VPK

VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) at IBCK: A Gentle Start for Growing Minds

Sending your 4-year-old to school for the first time can feel overwhelming. Enrolling in VPK is a big step. Maybe your child has never been away from you. Maybe you’re wondering if they’ll be safe, understood, or even ready to sit still. And maybe if you’re honest, you’re not sure you’re ready either.

Many Kissimmee families face these same emotions:

  • Worry that their child will feel lost, anxious, or left out
  • Concern about emotional outbursts or separation anxiety
  • Difficulty finding a school that speaks their language or shares their values
  • Uncertainty around enrollment, state programs, or financial aid
  • Fear of being judged or misunderstood when their child needs extra patience

At IBCK Educational Center, we understand those worries deeply, and we’ve built our Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) program to help parents and children feel prepared, supported, and genuinely seen.

A School That Cares for the Whole Family

The transition to school isn’t just about academics; it’s about emotion, trust, and connection. Our VPK program provides a strong educational foundation, but it also offers something just as important: reassurance for you and emotional safety for your child.

Built-In Emotional Support

Our licensed on-site therapist is available to help students who are struggling with separation, anxiety, or behavioral transitions. We believe that no child is “too much” and no emotion is ignored. Whether your child needs help adjusting, making friends, or expressing themselves, we’re here with compassion and professional care.

Bilingual, Personalized Classrooms

Your child will be welcomed into a warm, bilingual classroom where they can learn in both English and Spanish, in a pressure-free environment. We keep our class sizes small, so every child receives personal attention, and every parent feels heard. You’ll never wonder how your child’s day went because we’ll be communicating with you every step of the way.

Values That Match Yours

At IBCK, we gently weave Christian values like kindness, empathy, and purpose into everyday lessons. Families of all backgrounds are welcome, and we celebrate each child’s culture, spirit, and story. We’re not here to rush your child; we’re here to guide them patiently and lovingly.

Ease their fears and yours. Discover a VPK experience that supports the whole family.

A Day in the Life: Learning Through Love

Our VPK students begin each day with routines that provide structure, familiarity, and joy. They engage in learning centers, music, group time, storybooks, and outdoor play, all designed to support brain growth and social connection.

But beneath the surface of every activity, there’s something deeper happening: trust is being built, confidence is blooming, and your child is learning how to feel safe without you by their side.

We focus on:

  • Pre-reading, math, and early language fluency
  • Emotional expression and coping tools
  • Social skills like sharing, waiting for turns, and resolving conflicts
  • Faith-infused lessons that teach kindness, patience, and love
  • Bilingual vocabulary in natural, everyday moments
  • Self-help skills like zipping a backpack or asking for help

We also adjust our pace for students who may need extra encouragement, redirection, or comfort. Whether your child runs into school or clings to your leg at drop-off, we meet them where they are, with zero judgment.

Helping Parents Feel Confident, Not Alone

We know that for many parents, VPK is the first time they’re handing over care to someone else. That’s a big deal. At IBCK, we don’t take that lightly.

Here’s how we support you:

  • Onboarding helps with paperwork, VPK eligibility, and documentation
  • Clear communication in both English and Spanish, weekly updates, reminders, and photos
  • One-on-one meetings with teachers to discuss your child’s emotional and academic progress
  • Access to a mental health professional if your child shows signs of distress, stress, or anxiety
  • Warm classroom visits so you can stay connected and build trust with your child’s teacher
  • Community events that include you in every celebration and milestone

Our families never feel like outsiders. We treat you like partners because you are.

What Makes Our VPK Program Special

Many free programs exist in Florida. But few go beyond the minimum requirements to offer families real peace of mind. At IBCK, we provide:

A Safe Emotional Start

Every child’s feelings are valid. Whether it’s nerves, fear, or shyness, we help your child feel heard and supported with trained teachers and a licensed on-site therapist.

Bilingual Foundations

Students gain fluency in both English and Spanish, allowing them to learn confidently and connect with peers. Parents receive school communications in their preferred language.

Strong Parent-Teacher Partnerships

You’ll receive regular updates, be invited into the classroom for key moments, and know that we nurture your child, not just teach.

Purpose-Driven Learning

We integrate faith gently and lovingly, helping children build moral foundations and a strong sense of self from the very start.

Continuity for the Future

After VPK, your child can continue to kindergarten at IBCK, where they’ll already know the teachers, the building, and the values we live by. The transition feels seamless, and that consistency matters.

Supporting Special Needs and Unique Learning Styles

Some children need extra time, extra structure, or extra patience, and at IBCK, we gladly provide it. We welcome children with special needs, including those who have been turned away elsewhere.

We offer:

  • Tailored support from trained staff
  • Flexible approaches to behavioral and sensory needs
  • Communication tools to help students express themselves
  • Regular collaboration with parents and care teams

We believe every child is capable of thriving, and we’re committed to making that happen with the right environment and the right people.

Eligibility and Enrollment: Simple and Stress-Free

To enroll your child in VPK at IBCK, they must:

  • Be 3 and 4 years old on or before September 1 of the current school year
  • Be a resident of Florida

That’s it.

And if this is your first time enrolling your child in school, don’t worry, we’ll walk you through every step.

A Message from Our Team

We know you want the best for your child. You want them to feel happy, included, and safe. You want to know they’re not just learning, but being loved while they learn.

That’s what VPK at IBCK offers. We believe the foundation of an excellent education starts with trust and care. And we’re ready to welcome your family into a place that feels like home from the moment you walk through our doors.
